El Alsson NewGiza Pickup ("EA Pickup Portal")

El Alsson NewGiza Pickup is a mobile application for parents and authorised guardians of students at El Alsson NewGiza School. It lets you display a secure QR code at the school gate so staff can verify who is collecting a student. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and how it is protected.

The app is developed by Planet Techs on behalf of El Alsson NewGiza School (the "School"), which is the controller of the student and family data processed through the app.

1. Information we process

• Account credentials. Your phone number and password, which you enter to sign in. They are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to the School's server to authenticate you. Your password is never stored on your device. If you enable "Remember me", only your phone number is saved locally to pre-fill the sign-in screen.
• Parent / guardian profile. Your name and profile photo, as held in the School's records, are retrieved after sign-in and shown in the app.
• Student information. For students linked to your account: name, student ID, grade and class, photo, and a pickup key used to generate the gate QR code. This information originates from the School's student records; the app only displays it.
• Authentication token. After sign-in, a session token is stored on your device so you stay logged in. It is removed when you sign out.
• App version. The app reports its version number to the School's server to check whether an update is available.

2. How we use this information

The information above is used only to:

• sign you in and keep your session active;
• show your linked students and generate the pickup QR code;
• let School gate staff verify an authorised pickup;
• notify you when a newer version of the app is available.

3. What we do not do

• We do not use third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not collect your location.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with data brokers or for marketing.
• We do not use cookies or similar web trackers.

4. Sharing

Information is exchanged only between the app and El Alsson NewGiza School's own servers (hosted at school-online.net). It is not shared with any other third party, except where the School is required to disclose information by law.

5. Storage and security

• All communication between the app and the server uses HTTPS.
• On your device, the app stores only your session token, your cached profile and student list, and (optionally) your phone number. No password is stored.
• The QR and student ID screens block screenshots and screen recording to protect the pickup key.
• Data held on the School's servers is managed under the School's own information-security and record-keeping practices.

6. Data retention

Locally cached data remains on your device until you sign out or uninstall the app. Account, family, and student records are retained by the School for as long as the student is enrolled and thereafter as required by the School's records policy and applicable law.

7. Your choices and rights

• You can sign out at any time to clear the session and cached data from your device.
• You can uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data.
• To access, correct, or request deletion of the account, family, or student information held about you, contact the School using the details below. Because this data is part of the School's student records, some information may need to be retained for legitimate educational or legal reasons.

8. Children's privacy

The app is intended for use by parents and authorised adult guardians, not by children. Student information shown in the app is provided and controlled by the School as part of its educational records, with parental notice and consent handled through the School's enrolment process.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date on this page, and where appropriate announced within the app.
